My grandson loves to play baseball. He's 10yo. and is pretty good. Anyway, he's teaching me the game. I didn't realize how interesting it can be. I also love the fact that he wants me to participate in his passion. We had one child, a girl (his mother). I'm really enjoying have a boy around. (I love my granddaughter the same.)
I played a little bit as a kid, and my oldest played softball for a while. I always liked playing it more than watching it. Just the opposite for football.
NCAA women's softball super-regionals are on this weekend, the World Series is next weekend beginning on Thursday, all on ESPNU, ESPN2, etc., if anyone is interested in watching some good ball games. WW, I think sports are a great thing for kids and I'm glad you are involved and interested.
I'm not even aware of what that means. I watch a lot of football, but in my ignorance, it took me a long time to figure out what a "go ahead touchdown" meant. I thought it was some technical term to some kind of formation, but I felt pretty stupid when I learned that it just means that the lead had changed in the game.
I've never been a person to sit and watch sports. But I think I might get to that with Baseball (tv only). lol. I like that the game is slow. I can eat, relax, and my mind can drift for a few moments and I don't seem to miss a lot. My dd and family love the game. In fact, my granddaughter is the only girl on her team. Her older brother says that she's good at everything but hitting the ball. lol. I don't think she has the same level of interest as her brother---she loves Kung Fu and excels there. Many men like football. Even the women seem to favor it. If I had to go to a game, it would be basketball. It's inside. lol.
