I thought Shane mentioned "scratches" on the two they found on the ground in the episode that Shane and Rick had their bitchslap fest?

And I thought I distinctly remember Shane having a scratch when he was shaving his head after the "Otis incident".

The zombie in the woods could have been somebody that hung themselves and then the zombies got him, or they got scratched, and they hung themselves.

Who knows, but it's an interesting theory. We'll have to wait until somebody dies of natural causes to find out. Maybe Rick's baby is a zombie!

I'll need to add a "spoiler" type mod so that people don't have to read spoilers if they don't want to. But it appears you might be right Sheryl

I thought it was fitting, fantastic.

The season finale should be a bloodngutsfest of epic proportions!

So Rick finally takes care of Shane, and we start to find out that people are turning into zombies without being attacked by one.

I think the actor that played Shane is going to do a show for the original producers on HBO, and that's why he was offed. But now we don't have "bad guy" to root for or against, but that'll probably change when the introduce "the governor" next season.

    Thanks Dave

I think they are trying to save money. There has been plenty said about how the deal made with the Mad Men show killed the budgets of other shows. I thought that Shane character was really one dimensional, and incredibly boring in the end, and the guy over acted every line of dialogue. Reminded me of, "these pretzels.....are...making me....thirsty".

Quotes from an interview conducted by dalton Ross with John Bernthal who plays "Shane" on "The Walking Dead",
"We shot that scene all night long. And the entire cast came out and spent the entire night out on that field to be there for the last scene, and Jeff DeMunn [who played the recently deceased Dale] actually had been gone. He lives on a farm in upstate New York, and he had flown down and surprised me to be there for my last scene...
"Then all of a sudden I’ve got these contacts on, I can’t see anything, and I’m a zombie. And I’m like, “I don’t know how to do this! What do you do?”...
"I tried to convince [executive producer and zombie makeup guru] Greg Nicotero to let me be the only zombie with a speaking line, like, “Riiiiiick.” But he didn’t go for it.
"at the end of the day, this thing started with Andy, Frank, and I. Frank continues, I know, to live in Andy’s heart, as he does in mine, and I think that he was sort of there in that last scene. The fact that now I get to go work with him again [on TNT’s upcoming L.A. Noir] is something I’m just tremendously excited about."
MOST IMPORTANT INTERVIEW QUESTION: You’re obviously very close to Frank Darabont and were quite candid about how upset you were when he was forced out. So naturally that begs the question: Did you ask to be written out of the show?
" You know, no. I did not. This was always the plan. This was always the plan that this was going to do down this way. [However] when Frank left, there were some discussions that it was going to go a different way. One of the things I was really, really looking forward to is Frank always said he was going to write and direct our last scene — the last scene Andy and I would play together...."

Great discussions on the talking dead site. The latest episode includes a guest appearance by "Maggie", who doesn't sound anything like Maggie from the show.

One thing that was nagging me that really doesn't have much to do with the plot, is that Glen was cleaning the points on the Winnebago, but that Winnebago doesn't look that old to have points in it. When did vehicles stop having points in them? Was it the early 70's, or earlier?

I agree that Rick completely "over" acts. I still didn't want to see Shane go, but I did read about him having a job on another upcoming show, so figured it was coming. I won't be surprised if a bit more of the group gets killed off in the next episode. When Randall got up after knowing Shane killed him, I yelled SEE! SneakyDave & Trouble I was right! :p I still think Shane did the right thing by killing Randall, as shown by the comments by Randall when he told Shane, we're on the same side now.

You're right Dave, electronic ignition came out in the late 60's, and early 70's. I had to look it up, because I just didn't believe it.

    I think that's a late 70's motor home.

I thought the same thing about that Winnebago, late 70's, and it sort of "sounds" like the thing has electronic ignition when Glenn was trying to fire it up, but maybe I was just dreaming.

Back in 1973, some models of Winnebago's had electronic ignition, but not all of them:
    http://www.ehow.com/list_7651862_1973-winnebago-brave-specifications.html

This is a 1974 Winnebago that looks like Dale's. I'll have to try to find out what model and year Dale's is. This one looks a little small. It's not the same model.

I had a '72 Dodge van that didn't have electronic ignition. In fact, it didn't have much of an ignition at all, I used to screwdriver to start it.

According to this source, it's a 1977 Winnebago Chieftan
    http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=350764

According to Winnebago Owner Relations (800-537-1885), if it is indeed a '77 Winnebago Chieftan, then it should have electronic ignition. All Winnebago's should have had electronic ignitions with 1972-1973 models.

I'M NEVER WATCHING THIS SHOW AGAIN

So we saw the "prison" compound coming up in Season 3, as well as a popular hooded figure from the comic book, Michonne, yielding a sword, and dragging 2 walkers behind her in chains. That should be pretty interesting.

I guess they've abandoned the RV now, so we probably won't be seeing that again. It was nice to see Jimmy and Maggie's sister show up long enough to get eaten.

The helicopter shows up again, seemingly the same one that Rick saw in the first season. I think it also appeared in one of the web episodes with bicycle girl.
