Read about it live as the siege continues. Some guy named Mohammed? (go figure that) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/9157126/Toulouse-siege-live.html
I'm reading where Mo was al qaida. I'm also hearing of testimony given in Washington that there may be as many as a 1000 Hezbollah agents presently in the USA. I'm reading more and more of the danger and level of infiltration that radical islamists have been able to establish under our noses.
I believe they have done away with the color system. Now the threat level system only has two levels: elevated and imminent. Pretty sure we are at elevated.
I went to Homeland Security website and found that we are in no alert at all at this time. Fleety is right. Now it's either elevated or imminent. right now we are at nothing. All is well as we collectively bury our heads in the sand. http://www.dhs.gov/files/programs/ntas.shtm
I think most of us are very aware of the threat. But what can we do about it. My hope is that those in charge of investigating these kinds of things are good at their jobs.
[/quote] That is interesting, Trouble. Thanks for the update. I could not get the Homeland Security website to load for some reason. So, if we are not at any alert at this time, I guess that makes it a three level system. No alert, elevated, and imminent. And I agree that we are burying our heads in the sand. How can there not be at least some level of threat in this day and age. I find it troubling that the American people are looking at that "No Alert" level and relaxing which we cannot afford to do, IMHO.
As I understand it, we are always on alert. I read somewhere that with each level law enforcement and others mobilize based on the threat level. I'm thinking that the threat levels have more to do with those people than the regular citizen who's suppose to be watching all the time. There are always going to be folks who won't watch or participate until it's right in their face. They're either generically stupid, or block out the fear because they can't live with any of it. my opinion.
But if you're a black kid living in Florida you should probably be more worried about neighborhood watch guys with a gun than about terrorists. And about a law that allows anyone to shoot to kill anyone anytime anywhere. The kid was walking home to his dad's with a bag of Skittles and a can of iced tea.
Another example of the collective assholes that run roughshod over their imaginary frontier just hoping for a chance to pull that piece and enforce justice. This guy is/was more dangerous than the criminals he fantasized about.
A lot of the information we see coming out is a direct result of the committee that is investigating terrorists and their ties right here in the USA. I have no doubt that what they do know is much less than what they need to know.
Oh I don't know , Trouble, I have a feeling if I am on a watch list you would have been there first! LOL!
I feel so sorry for the young man's family. From what I've read this shooter won't get out of this mess. I think he's guilty.
Islam is pretty much based on Jew hate. Christian hate too but for SURE Jew hate. The Palestinians have school books that portray the Jews as monkeys I think. They feel they are subhuman for some reason.
