Russia reaches ancient Antarctic lake http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/World/2012/02/08/19355296.html MOSCOW - Russia said on Wednesday it had pierced through Antarctica's frozen crust to a vast, subglacial lake that has lain untouched for at least 14 million years hiding what scientists believe may be unknown organisms and clues to life on other planets. Sealed deep under the ice sheet, Lake Vostok is one of the world's last unexplored frontiers. Scientists suspect its depths may reveal new life forms and a glimpse of the planet before the ice age. If life is found in the lake's icy darkness, it may provide the best answer yet to whether life can exist in the extreme conditions on Mars or Jupiter's moon Europa. ____________________
The one with James Arness didn't scare me but the remake with Kurt Russell sure did. When that guy's head turned into a spider-like thing and skittered away I freaked! Heh. Cracked my kid up though.
Missed that one, fact is I didn't even Kurt Russell did that remake. I like his acting and don't miss many of his films.
Yeah, remake in 1982. I like his movies too, my favorites are Overboard with Goldie Hawn and "Don't call me Snake (Plisskin)" Escape From New York. View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_S5k7f-sPo&feature=fvst
How about "Big Trouble in Little China" the special effects was great on the bottle and knife catching. Tango and Cash was pretty good too.
Snake Pliskin, I don't know how many times I've used that name in restaurants. That movie is never on often enough.
