Secretive Patty Smith and Dave Kellog, who never wanted their names publicly known as owners of mootropolis, mootalk.com and mad-cows.com, now require a valid phone number and “real name” for their new venture, goodtopics.com. Addresses may be next!
Mootalk.com was supposedly recently “sold” to somebody who is also super secret in name, gender, and privacy stance. This obviously was yet another fake “sale” by Patty and Dave because whenever the site was down for maintenance, it would ask people to register at Goodtopics.com. Why would a new owner of a discussion web site redirect visitors to the old owner’s new site? The only answer is that the site was never sold.
Allegedly, the mootalk.com site was so heavy on modifications to its vBulletin software that Patty and Dave had to start over and start Goodtopics.com. Former mootalk member “YourDesigns” claimed that Patty and Dave made sooooo many changes to the vBulletin software that they could now claim it as open source and available as a General Public License module, and wouldn’t have to pay vBulletin license fees, nor include the the vBulletin copyright notice in the footer of the vBulletin generated pages! Crazy talk!
Dave Kellog (still in denial of his surname) has had numerous meltdowns in recent months revolving around alleged fraud and privacy problems at mad-cows.com, the same Dave Kellog that I had ethics questions about over a year ago!
Now, Patty and Dave start a new scam. Shut down mootalk.com, and start a new campaign with GoodTopics.com. If you value your private information, stay away from Goodtopics!
UPDATE: Mootalk.com no longer redirects to Goodtopics.com. Maybe Patty Smith and Dave Kellog decided to keep the MooTalk forums around just so forum spammers like abidders.com can sabotage the place, or maybe some secret GT forum members have the answer? Who knows? Its a secret, that's for sure.
