Huh. During Wagglepop v.1, Ray promoted himself as this big SEO expert. Wonder why he needs a consultant?  :rolleyes:

Ray must have got my IP from somewhere(!) and banned it....

I've asked the main developer of phpbb to investigate wagglepop's community forum setup to verify that Ray isn't violating any phpbb license by using a hacked version of the phpbb forum script.

Maybe Rscript (wagglepop's software) has a deal with phpbb to not require the phpbb copyright in their installation, but that's why I forwarded the information to phpbb to figure out.

Here's the evidence.

The forums:
http://www.wagglepop.com/community/

The forum URL's are similar to phpbb (viewforum.php, profile.php function the same), and until recently, there was a "groupcp.php" and "search.php" page that were almost identical to a stock phpbb installation. I think they removed some of the scripts they don't use so that it can't be traced as an illegally license phpbb version.

Even the css of the page has these references, which are from phpbb themes or styles....
<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/phpBBlite/phpBBlite.css" title="Wagglepop.com" media="screen" type="text/css" />

Here's the answer on the phpbb license...

There is nothing in the license which prohibits users from removing the copyright notice, it simply causes them to loose all support here at phpBB.

New rules coming to Wagglepop soon (Jan 21). I expect to see a fee increase! Ray's also moving servers to save money....

Here's a good lie from Ray from 2/22/2005, almost 3 years ago..

Here is the update of "Andrew's" crying about expenses, and no sellers to fall for his/Ray's sctick, including his complaining about why sellers should embrace higher prices at Wagglepop...

Here's the latest update. Wagglepop calls a new seller an "idiot", threatens to collect on the seller's $9.95 store fee, and reminds the seller that "IP TRACK IS ON", and copies the emails to Ray's imaginary legal deparment! INSANE!!

http://sneakydave.com/content/view/189/2/

Nobody should feel frightened or scared into paying any fees to Ray Romeo and Wagglepop.

Has anybody else noticed that all the "page not found" errors on wagglepop all have an "IP Logged for Legal" statement printed on the bottom of them? Why?!
