The CycloneFanatic message boards are teeming with life about Iowa State Cyclone threads, and until recently, a Matt Perrault thread.
A member there by the userid of jmb started a Matt Perrault discussion pointing to a blog post here on sneakydave.com. There was some discussion about it, some hated it, some liked it, but it seemed like a civil discussion to me. Here was my one entry, wishing Matt good luck at KXNO
To clarify my blog entry about Matt “I never lie” Perrault…. I don’t hate Matt, I like to point out his disingenuous comments. He’s a human contradiction. It started while he was in Omaha when I was trying to buy the BlueJayCafe, and keep it from becoming a paid rivals site. I’ve golfed with Matt, he’s a good golfer, but needy, popped collar and all. That said, he can fly off the handle with listeners, tell them they are on crack, call them stupid, convince management they are wrong, etc. Maybe he doesn’t do that in Iowa between talking about the Red Sox, Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, Gregg Marshall, or Gator Football, but we in Omaha have all heard it. It appears he works hard at his job, although he seems to be frequently uninformed, and blames his lack of fact checking on “not being a journalist”. I personally hope he enjoys a long and illustrious career with KXNO. Good luck!Then a few days later, Matt shows up, apparently in a fit of rage…
Well, I’ve been just a touch busy boys and girls here in Oklahoma City. Haven’t been on here for a while but I’m glad to see that my stalker showed up. I mean, the guy did have a T-shirt made with my face on it…bought the WEBSITE MattPerrault.com ….did a blog post about quotes and twitters in which he made up some, misquoted quoted others, and took out of context many…the guy runs a kiss-ass website dedicated to the Omaha radio show Todd and Tyler … who laugh at him behind his back for the free pub they give to their show…he’s got serious mental problems – I haven’t worked in Omaha for a year but the dude won’t stop. I’ve even threatened him with legal action but what am I’m going to get out of him? A 20 year porn magazine collection? He’s a clown. period. As far as the Cyclone chronicle guy – he was pissing me off for a while that night and I finally just let him have it. My fault. I was pissed off about UNI and wasn’t going to listen to some dude run his mouth about the Panthers seed who was being a jerk. I apologized for it…it was my fault. I thought he was a legit media member ….turns out he was a blogger – if I knew that, I wouldn’t have said what I did. I thought that site was legit – my mistake. Anyways, thanks for the support from those who listen. This Sneaky Dave dude has taught me a lot about the level of crazy that is out there. It’s actually pretty scary so I’ll ask Chris and mods this – keep this guy away from me and threads about me. He’s sick.I made one last post to the thread this morning, but Matt would have none of it, he had Chris the admin remove my post and lock up the thread, this was a summary of my post, I knew I should have kept its entirety, because we all know that Matt badgers and hounds message board admins about any negative attention he receives. Just as TheBlueJayCafe, CycloneFanatic, Big Sports 590 Message Forums #1, Big Sports 590 Message Boards #2, etc. I was called a clown, and a stalker, shouldn’t I have a chance to respond to that?
First, let me say that before long, Matt will ask this thread to be removed because that’s what he’s done in the past on every other board he frequents. Matt, I haven’t misquoted or taken anything out of context. They are your own words with links to your blog posts, tweets, and message board postings. Own your words Matt I don’t know what connect Todd and Tyler have with this thread, but if they’re laughing behind my back about the free pub they’re getting, who cares? Have fun in OKC!

Matt is a grade A douche. He still gets an allowance from his mother. I listened to him in Huntsville before they ran him out of town. The best quote, because it’s true; “I promise you I understand “where Iowa is” better than you could ever dream of “understanding”. I have forgotten more about Iowa athletics in 26 years, than you will ever know. “

I don’t hate Matt, but I enjoy pointing out his inconsistencies, dishonesty, lack of integrity, and his uncanny ability to not control himself.
And for those reasons you listed and more are why I hate the guy. Are you sure you don’t want him back in Omaha? We would love to ship him back to you!
No way, he’s in Omaha enough already. And he really likes it there in Des Moines. More basketball and football to be wrong about! His KXNO radio show doesn’t sound much different than his KXSP radio show in Omaha. All Boston, all the time!
So give us the inside scoop about him in Omaha? Why did he get canned? How many people at his station enjoyed the guy’s company or show? We need the lowdown here- he is already proven to be a tool
And let me ask you this, did he ever bad mouth Iowa that you know of while he was in Omaha? He seems like he likes to do that about his past endeavors too
The only person I know from KXSP and KEZO (Journal Broadcast Group stations where he worked) that hung out with him was his producer Brian. I don’t recall any other work related person being in his “posse”.
He never talked about Iowa unless it was about Iowa State, and his man love for Gene Chizik. He called Alabama a bunch of racist rednecks, and it didn’t appear that he fit in well with the conservatives around him in Omaha.
And nobody here wears popped collars, that probably irked him.

Nobody knows why he got canned, everybody (including me) says it was ratings, but according to Matt, it was Journal Broadcast Group finances. His show was ranked 9th in his demographic when the announcement was made that his show was canceled. Matt claimed his show was in 2nd place. And as far as I know, there were only 2 sports shows on AM during the same time slot with the same demographics, so I don’t know how even his show could have tanked out at 9th place:
