I’m not sure what’s going on with Matt lately.
In March, Matt tries to engage, or poke, me into one of his “slams” on twitter, regarding the discounted price of MattPerrault.com, saying….
Matt must have forgotten about how the MattPerrault.com web site price works. It starts out at around $99 about March 27th, until about April 4th, then it starts adding a dollar daily to the price until eventually resets to $99 again around March 27th the next year. So THAT’s when anybody can get a really good deal on it. Matt obviously must not have $99, but it’s obvious that he checks the site daily to see if anything has changed on it, as he commented on it the exact day the discounted price went into effect.
Anyway, I was kind enough to remind him about how the pricing works on the site:
So after I retweeted him, and corrected him about his “bargain bin” status, he goes into a rage and calls me a “STALKER!”:
So naturally, if a person calls a guy a stalker (which Matt has done to me 3 times), common sense would tell you that this person would want to stay away from that stalking individual, right?
But not Matt, a couple months went by, and then he sent me an email inviting me to JOIN HIS LINKEDIN NETWORK! WTF WTF WTF!? This might be Kook Of The Year material.
David, I’d like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn – Matt
Did the guy forget he called me a stalker, and threatened, in ALL CAPS nonetheless, to sue me if I documented his own quotes?
I always thought people didn’t update their LinkedIn information or send out invitations to people to join their network unless they were looking for work, but Matt’s only been back “home” working at WGAM and WEEI for maybe a few months at the most, surely Bostonions haven’t tired of him THAT quickly? Or maybe not?
AquaNarc posted: This guy is unlistenable. He makes Mutnansky look like Edward R. Murrow. Another smart move by WEEI!
sportstalkmattboston then makes 5 posts, and edits them after a couple of days.
UPDATE 2/25: Matt confirms his move from KXNO to WGAM. No response as to which statements from Marty Tirrell were lies: Next Step For My Career
“nudged” meaning, his contract wasn’t renewed….
Marty Tirrell of the Des Moines Radio Station “The Champ” started a fire on 2/22 that he couldn’t put out.
He claimed that Matt Perrault would announce that he was leaving competing station KXNO, to move to radio station in New Hampshire.
During a live chat last night on MouthOfTheMidwest.com, Marty had an impromptu chat with fans and detractors regarding his statement. Matt Perrault has called Marty Tirrell a liar for the statements he’s made, and is excited to see Tirrell in St. Louis.
I feel really, really bad for @martytirrell Guy is so desperate is pathetic. Lying about someone you are jealous of is so sad.
Sucks when you get run out of so many towns that you have resort to making up lies about people half your age that you know R better than u
Marty claims that Matt “Got his old job at WGAM, Nashua, NH“, but Matt seems to only respond to questions about whether he “got fired” from KXNO. No word from Matt about what Marty is, or has been, lying about.
Speculation heated up on the CycloneFanatic.com message board, including the observation that Perrault normally shows up within an hour of someone mentioning his name to respond to rumors about him, or members critical of his show(s), but he hadn’t appeared all day.
Following is a recent transcript of the MouthOfTheMidwest chat area while Marty Tirrell was having an open chat with users. This chat is unedited, but formatted to display properly. The most recent comments are first. “marty” is presumably Marty Tirrell.
Already a big Peyton Manning hater and Tom Brady man crusher, Matt Perrault refuses to believe that Peyton Manning could be better than Tom Brady, even though ex-Patriot Rodney Harrison believes Manning is the better of the two.
Perrault, from his Twitter account, got enraged after Harrison spoke of his opinion, comparing the Super Bowl appearances between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, but he left out one of Manning’s appearances.
In Matt’s “logical” summation, Ben Roethlisberger (2 SB wins) and Kurt Warner (1 SB win, 2 losses) are better QB’s than Peyton Manning.
A part-time Des Moines AM radio talk show co-host should be a little more knowledgeable in my opinion, even if he doesn’t call himself a journalist.
“Did Rodney just saw Manning was better than BRADY!!! DUDE – watch yourself! 3 rings … 4 SB app. to 1!!”

More Matt:
Tom Brady is better than Joe Montana
It may be no surprise to anybody, but the part time AM radio co-host with a blog has been acting up again lately.
Haverhill40 – “@sportstalkmatt Do you have an imposter on twitter? Another Matt Perrault is following me.” link
sportstalkmatt - “@Haverhill40 It’s the same dude who bought mattperrault.com and is now trying to sell it if you can believe that. Total loser in my book”. link
Haverhill40 – “@sportstalkmatt Who would want to be you?? I kid, I kid. Kinda creepy if you ask me though. Does it feel good that people want to be you??” link
sportstalkmatt – “@Haverhill40 Yeah, the guy is a creap stalker of me. Pretends to be me.” link
Matt knows succinctly that I don’t operate the mattperrault twitter account. I’ve told him that. I’m not a big twitter fan, but I know who’s operating it, or at least who created it. And they’re treading on thin ice mocking Matt. I suspect Twitter will eventually dump that account, at least that’s what Matt has been telling people. Why mock Matt when his own words do the mocking?
Also, this is the second time Matt Perrault has posted that I’m a stalker. Those are some pretty big words to own up to, even if they are misspelled. I won’t comment any more on his ludicrous statements until I check up on some documentation.
From the CycloneFanatic Message board, right before Matt forced the operator to close a thread dedicated to him…
” Well, I’ve been just a touch busy boys and girls here in Oklahoma City. Haven’t been on here for a while but I’m glad to see that my stalker showed up. I mean, the guy did have a T-shirt made with my face on it…bought the WEBSITE MattPerrault.com ….did a blog post about quotes and twitters in which he made up some, misquoted quoted others, and took out of context many”
Another fib from that paragraph, I was GIFTED a shirt with “I (HEART) Matt Perrault” on it for my birthday, I didn’t create it. I haven’t made up any of Matt’s quotes, nor misquoted him, and never took any out of context. Why would I go to the trouble of that? He must think that I’m the only guy that pokes fun at him.
All I’ve ever done to Matt is throw his words back in his face, and he obviously can’t stand it. MattPerrault.com is still reasonably priced for anybody named Matt Perrault, or not named Matt Perrault.
The CycloneFanatic message boards are teeming with life about Iowa State Cyclone threads, and until recently, a Matt Perrault thread.
A member there by the userid of jmb started a Matt Perrault discussion pointing to a blog post here on sneakydave.com. There was some discussion about it, some hated it, some liked it, but it seemed like a civil discussion to me. Here was my one entry, wishing Matt good luck at KXNO
To clarify my blog entry about Matt “I never lie” Perrault…. I don’t hate Matt, I like to point out his disingenuous comments. He’s a human contradiction. It started while he was in Omaha when I was trying to buy the BlueJayCafe, and keep it from becoming a paid rivals site. I’ve golfed with Matt, he’s a good golfer, but needy, popped collar and all. That said, he can fly off the handle with listeners, tell them they are on crack, call them stupid, convince management they are wrong, etc. Maybe he doesn’t do that in Iowa between talking about the Red Sox, Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, Gregg Marshall, or Gator Football, but we in Omaha have all heard it. It appears he works hard at his job, although he seems to be frequently uninformed, and blames his lack of fact checking on “not being a journalist”. I personally hope he enjoys a long and illustrious career with KXNO. Good luck! Then a few days later, Matt shows up, apparently in a fit of rage…
