Ray Romeo is one of the 3 biggest losers of the auction community. Right behind Troy MacDonald and Scott Samuel, Ray tried to start an auction site, wagglepop.com with no product, but plenty of promises.
In a nutshell, wagglepop was open for about 10 days before Ray claimed that a DoS attack had shut the site down, but the bidding started at 45,000 to buy it. He also claimed that somebody sent him a turd in the mail and supposedly his family was threatened.
All of his actions put him at the top of kooks in the online auction industry.
Now, Ray claims he has learned his lesson, and he’s ready to start a revolution with the new wagglepop.com
The good news is that he hasn’t appeared on any forums lying about the new auction site, and he doesn’t use Microsoft ASP for the usually buggy site.
The bad news is that he had to send out a spam mail to announce to everybody that it had re-opened, and if you read the OTWA thread, it looks as though Ray’s Terms of Service support him sending spam.

LavishAuctions.com from Canada is currently running the spam game to get people to join its lame auction site. Avoid spammers at all costs! Could LavishAuctions be in cahoots with Canada’s other big auction spam operator, Troy MacDonald, of the failed Gegy? I doubt Troy would be that stupid, but he is Candadian.

Leo Cunha (spammer and owner of Bidchaser.com) has replaced his Indian developers with different developers, and supposedly is making improvements to the bug ridden bidchaser.com. He thinks he’s going to take on Overstock now.
He’s closed some forums from public viewing, but he definitely has been recruiting a lot of Indian talent to promote this lame auction site.
Here’s a video he’s contemplating on using on TV, hopefully nowhere in America.

He’s also decided to let the Indian talent take care of the site now, he is no longer interested in answering questions about bugs.
In addition, he’s making all sellers re-validate their status to make sure he knows who you are.
Here’s some kind of Video Festival bidchaser is “sponsoring”. Visit it to see the grammatical errors.

Jim Wells takes the OTWA forum membership, and creates a new auction newsletter site, The Auction Business Review, and then sends spam out to the OTWA members with this new newsletter.
Spam is spam, and Jim gets called out on it.
TR; I don’t recall signing up for it. I do allow normal emails from OTWA. But this looks like another venture to me. Maybe I’m wrong about that, I dunno.
But if it is another venture, and it’s definitely another website, then I don’t think my allowing emails from OTWA would or should cover that.

KNOCK IT OFF WITH THE EMAILS is the title of this message from a user to Leo Cunha, owner and consistent spammer apologist for Bidchaser.
Its not Leo’s fault though, it was just an accident that this user received 3000 emails!

Hello,
We have shut off the relisting messaging on the new end-of-auction/relist processor. I apologize to the members who got flooded with the relist emails.
We had staff working on the process over the weekend, and although the new system is working very well compared to the old one, there was a misunderstanding on when to send/not send confirmation emails. That has been cleared, and has stopped. The new EOA (End Of Auction) Processor checks every 15 minutes, and updates and closed bids, relists, etc, including automatic relists.
We are now gettting ready to implement the new counter processor, as well as continue a clean-up of the imaging system, where some of our older auction and store items did not have their pictures processed completely.
I expect that the complete migration to the 2.0 code will be completed within the next 5 to 10 days.
Many thanks,
Leo Cunha
