Avast Anti-Virus and NETGEAR Router GENIE Interface

I spent almost 2 days trying to configure a new NETGEAR WNDR4500 wireless router.

Out of the box, the router worked great, and had no problems, but when I got into the GENIE admin interface to make changes, it was an exercise in futility.

It looks like the browser based UI was rewritten to take advantage of ajax calls to give administrators a better user experience than the tried and true old administration interface.

But in my case, clicking on links in the interface would result in blank pages, or the “spinning circle” to keep spinning and not go away. Sometimes the links would work, sometimes they wouldn’t.

This got pretty aggravating when the problem prevented me from updating the router firmware, or even changing the password on the router.

OAUA reopened as the Online Apathetic Users’ Anomoly

Well, I couldn’t think of a better name to fit the acronym, but I decided to use the OAUA.net domain name to a better use.

The basic gist of the OAUA is that its a discussion community of everything BUT politics and religion, the 2 discussion topics I personally abhor.

TnTU.net down HARD!

At the moment (9/15/2009 6:45am) TnTU.net is down due to a hard drive failure on LEELA. It should be back up soon. Sorry for the inconvenience. This doesn’t affect YAGBN.com, or other TnTU sites.

Anybody have the recipe?

Ever since MJ Java downtown shut down, I’ve been craving the chicken salad sandwich on marble bread they had there. Oooommmm… that was good, with a “bag of boiled eggs” to go with it. Nothing else. I wasn’t into the coffee so much, but I loved that chicken salad sandwich.

And then, like a thief in the night (or over a weekend), they shut it down, supposedly due to the economy and less traffic i8n the 1299 Farnam building. I don’t buy it, I’m sure there’s a conspiracy theory out there about the real reason it shut down.

Are there any satellite MJ Java locations still open? Seems like the web site is still up, and advertises locations at 6102 Irvington Rd and the MCC South  Coffee bar. Wonder if they have any chicken salad sandwiches?
